Alert: Chemical Spill Reported in Bagumbayan (Eastwood Area) Quezon City

A chemical spill was reported in Bagumbayan (Eastwood Area), Quezon City. I called the Pasig Traffic Command Control Center (+63 2 643-0000) and asked about the awful smell and they confirmed that a chemical spill occurred in a plastics manufacturing facility in Bagumbayan, Quezon City. Apparently, the spill happened around midnight, November 23, 2015.

The spill might be a result of human error or freak accidents. However, these chemical spills could also result from unsafe practices, equipment failure, use of wrong equipment or tools, damaged hoses or dilapidated tanks or equipment. Depending on the magnitude of the spill, these incidents can cause the company a lot of money from clean up efforts and compensation to the public or even as far as litigation and business closure.

Thus, it is important to ensure that safety measures are in place to avoid unnecessary operational down times. I just hope no one got injured or worse loss of life.

May you achieve true success!

My Mentor's Mom Meets Her Maker: Honoring a Great Mother (Nanay Pilar)

The mother of one of my best mentors, Bo Sanchez, finally went to heaven and met her Maker.

Nanay Pilar, is indeed a pillar of love, strength and grace. She, together with her husband (who is also in heaven), are the reasons why the Sanchez family are faithfully serving the Lord.

As the Bible puts it in Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV),
Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

PinoyInvesting would like to honor a true woman of God and an honorable public servant by the name of Visminda Osorio.

Dir. Visminda Osorio, Minda to those who know her, is the OIC Regional Director of the Environmental Management Bureau National Capital Region (EMB-NCR) and is a good public servant. But more importantly, she is a true woman of God.

Spend P50k and Lose P1M. How Can One Avoid This?

Yes, that's right! You are bound to lose a whopping one million pesos (PhP1,000,000.00) in twenty years when you spend fifty thousand pesos (PhP50,000.00) of your precious money today.

Because of the power of compounding Or more accurately, the result of not taking advantage of it.

Where Does Your Hard Earned Money Go

Nowadays, it is so easy to spend, or a better word is throw away, PhP5,000.00 per month.

Digestion is the Foundation to Optimum Health

Many look at digestion only as happening only in the stomach. But the truth is, digestion starts when you look at a food you want to eat. Actually, digestion will start when you think about eating food.

Try to remember the times when you look at images of delicious food from billboards or magazines. If you like eating that food, you'll start getting hungry and crave for it in a few minutes. Right?

Digestion is a very important process to keep our body healthy. During digestion, our body produces the right amount of digestive enzymes to process the food that we are going to eat. In fact, the body produces very specific enzymes for each kind of food.

For example, if you will eat simple foods that's easy to digest like vegetables and fruits, the body will produce the right kind of enzymes at the right amount to process the food. And if we will eat tougher foods such as meat, it will produce a stronger enzyme to ensure that it is processed as well.

Understanding My Wife - Our Differences

The title of this post, "Understanding My Wife", doesn't mean she's an unreasonable person and I'm the martyr trying to give all the understanding she needs.

In fact, it's totally the opposite.

For the past 7 years, I have actually been on the receiving end of the deal and my lovely wife has been the one who's been trying to give me all the understanding I need.

The reason this is the title is because now I know that I've been acting like an idiot.  Now, I understand how a woman thinks and how different they are to us.

I just read a short book by Bo Sanchez that's based on the principles he learned from John Gray's book Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus and Gary Chapman's The Five Love Languages.

These are four (4) differences of men and women I have learned from the book and how I can apply it in our marriage.

5 Reasons To Be Thankful For The Past Year 2012

I have been very blessed the past year 2012!

It was not all rosy. But there are people in my life that made my 2012 a much smoother, enjoyable and meaningful ride and I'd like to give honor to them in this post.

Reason No. 1: The Lord Jesus Christ

I'm the worse of sinners. If there was an award-giving body out there, I would get one of the top awards for sinning. My past wasn't nice and cool. It was more like ugly and hot.

Dear Pinoy Investing subscribers!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for being with me growing in our finances and spiritual growth this year. it has been a great and challenging year for me in my family, business and ministry!

I had a lot of lessons learned in all these areas. I learned the power of focus, the reason why I wasn't able to blog more often than I want to since I had to focus on my environmental engineering and consultancy business.

Are You Relying on Your SSS Monthly Pension for Your Retirement?

Are You Relying on Your SSS Monthly Pension for Your Retirement?

Maybe you need to think twice while you still have time!

I had a recent business meeting with two other people and during our business conversation, we somehow talked about how large companies offer their regular employees early retirement and entice them with very juicy packages. Most of the 'older' employees take this offer since it's a great chance to receive a lot of money at one given time. It's actually like winning a mini-LOTTO because you literally become an instant multimillionaire.

How to Heal Yourself Naturally by Bo Sanchez Part 1 of 5
How to Heal Yourself Naturally by Bo Sanchez Part 2 of 5
How to Heal Yourself Naturally by Bo Sanchez Part 3 of 5
How to Heal Yourself Naturally by Bo Sanchez Part 4 of 5

In this post, we will talk about steps 5 to 9 of how to overhaul your soul health. So. let's get right to it.

Step 5: Forgive Daily

It was Lewis B. Smedes who said something about forgiveness that is so true. He said,
“To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.”
I know how true this is n my own life. I've had past resentments which involved unforgiveness towards people who have wrongs me. What's painful is that these people either don't know that they have wrong me or don't care at all.

How to Heal Yourself Naturally by Bo Sanchez 4 of 5

If you missed my three (3) previous posts , you may get back to it here:

How to Heal Yourself Naturally by Bo Sanchez Part 1 of 5
How to Heal Yourself Naturally by Bo Sanchez Part 2 of 5
How to Heal Yourself Naturally by Bo Sanchez Part 3 of 5

In the previous three (3) posts, I shared to you the nine (9) ways you can overhaul your body health. In the remaining two (2) posts, let us discuss about the nine (3) ways you can overhaul your soul health.

Health is not only physical. It is also emotional and spiritual, which is focuses on our soul.

So, here are the first four (4) steps to overhaul your soul health.

Step 1: Count Your Blessings

It's amazing how our young people and children are so used to getting what they want...right an instant, without really appreciating what they have. They tend to ask for more than what they deserve. They demand from us like we have the obligation to give it to them. I believe this is the fault of the "instant" or "fast" mentality we have allowed to creep into our society.

How to Heal Yourself Naturally by Bo Sanchez 3 of 5

Did you miss my first two posts about how to heal yourself naturally? Click HERE to go to that post.

In this post, I will continue with Steps 6 to 9 of how to have a healthy body. So let's proceed right away.

Step 6: Avoid Wrong Foods and Medicines

We know what's good food and bad food! Right?

Hotdogs, tocino, canned foods, instant noodles, microwaved food. What's common among these? All of these are processed AND preserved foods. It's not made by you. Machines cooked them for us.

Here's a clue. the farther away from natural foods like fruits and veggies which can be eaten raw, the worse it is for our bodies.

How about medicines? Do you pop a pill the moment you catch a cold? How about when you start sneezing because of allergies, do you end up going to your medicine box to take that anti-histamine tab?
